About Me

Suzanne Thompson: Frankfort, Kentucky, United States; I live in Kentucky with my husband, two dogs and several families of dust bunnies. I graduated from Berea College as an Art major with an emphasis in weaving. After graduating I worked with the (now gone) Appalachian Museum on a National Endowment for the Arts grant to produce filmstrips (okay, I have officially dated myself) of traditional craftsmen. I was also a spinner/weaver/vegetable dyer/soap maker at Fort Boonesboro in its inaugural season. I eventually landed at Florida State University to finish my education with an MFA. Then I had to make a living; I could list the vast and disjointed list of positions I have held, but I won’t. Several years ago I began a self-improvement campaign. In the fall of 2008 I enrolled in a four-year course of study (www.sewanee.edu/EFM/index.htm). The first year encompassed The Old Testament. As I studied, sometimes having 4 different translations open at once, I wondered how I could share the universal message I found in the Abrahamic tradition. The work I create now is the manifestation of my enthusiasm and personal relationship with YHWH, God; the Lord, Allah, Jehovah, Abba, Father...
